Firestop Coffee Break Training

Most training has some inherant flaws. They require you to take hours or days out of your schedule. Then the pro's say that people retain around 10% of the information in a lecture. That doesnt sound like an effective use of your time. The couple that with the fact that even when a lecture is recorded, people never want to sift through an hour long video to find the one ten minute section they want to review.

We have eliminated all of these headaches and more. Think about the last class you took on building codes or standards. Was the presenter dry and boring? Did you struggle to stay awake; let alone apply the information to your actual work?  If you can't apply the knowledge to your work, then what's the point in the first place.

This training is different!

  • It fits into your schedule, even a crazy schedule
  • Our trainer LOVES firestop and her passion is contagious
  • The information is immediately applicable to your jobsite
  • We pepper the course with fire test standards and stories that apply the standard to your site
  • Real world examples of how codes and standards
  • We animate the building codes so you can apply them to your project
  • We keep the training cost effective so you can share them with the different trades on your project or people on your team

Firestop 101- Fire Rated Joints

This course will explain how fire rated floors and walls are tested, how you connect the rated assemblies with fire rated joints, we will walk you through the good, the bad and the ugly of firestop rated joints looking at sealants sprays and even some firestop devices so that no matter what application you have on your project, you will be able to better evaluate the installations

Firestop 201- Fire Rated Shafts

This course will build on your base knowledge you have after completing the Firestop 101- Fire Rated Joints course. If your project has fire rated shaft walls we strongly encourage you to join us for this series because we will explain how shafts are built differently, tested differently and then it should be obvious that they are firestopped differently. We will again walk you through all the firestop applications for the head of wall joint applications for sealants, sprays and some firestop devices so no matter what is installed on your project, you can tell if it is done right.

Fire rated shafts are a unique fire risk because they impact multiple floors so getting this right can have a dramatic impact on the level of life safety on your projects.

Firestop 202- Fluted Metal Deck

While we touched on firestopping head of wall joints on fluted metal decks in our 101 course, there is a lot more you need to know if you want to be sure these applications are done right.

Please join us for this series so we can walk you through the peaks and valleys of these installations.

Firestop 301- The rest of the story on fire rated joints.

This training series is a bit of a catch all. This is a collection of topics that dont warrant thier own series but are still often not installed right so we wanted to include them so we can complete this segment of our training program. We will look at some of the common bad installations we see on other fire rated joints such as floor to floor, wall to wall, head of wall when you are dealing with fireproofed I- Beams.

If you have found the other trainings useful, you wont want to miss this one where we tie up all the loose ends.
