Basics of Firestop Special Inspection
This training will explain when firestop special inspection is required by codes. We will animate the building codes and turn the test standards into stories so when you are done you will understand how the codes and standards work together to frame what you do in the field or in the office. We will even discuss the guidance provided by the ICC Special Inspection Manual so you understand the best practices called out there. This training will save you bouncing back and forth in the codes and standards. We will connect the dots with you so you know the who what when and why of this code section. How do I know if the Inspector is Capable and Qualified?
If you have had many conversations with lawyers, you likely have heard them say that if it is not documented it didn't happen. If you are going to verify that a person meets the requirements to be a special inspector, you should have a way of documenting this. When you join this training we will give you a form you can use/modify to do just this. The training will explain how to evaluate the information presented in the form to ensure the individual is capable of doing the work and that they meet the qualifications of the building codes and the inspection standards. If you are a developer or architect, you may even want to include ASTM E3038 in your project specifications to help make this a little easier. Join us for the training and see what you think.
